I think much of that will stem on the outcome of the new collective bargaining agreement. The Ducks maintain that they intend to keep both players.

If there is a season, Steve, it will be over with very soon for Ducks fans. They are such notoriously bad starters that with such a short season...well, let's just say I'm not very optimistic of them making the playoffs. Hell, I'm still not too optimistic that there will be a season.

Ducks usually have pretty good 2nd half to the season. One thing that kinda sucks for the Ducks is the potential loss of not seeing Getz and Perry play in the final year of theyre contracts. It could be a disaster if they lose both of them for nothing. Esp with where the team is.

But both players have to want to be in Anaheim. They signed them both to contracts that lets them both expire as UFA's.

Very little chance that Perry goes anywhere. I'd put it at less than 1% chance he leaves. He loves Anaheim and the franchise and has indicated he will re-sign.

I'm also pretty confident at re-signing Getzlaf, though I have heard murmurs about him possibly wanting to play for an original 6 team.

They want to play together and will each probably want around $7M a piece, so at a $14M price tag that rules out a bunch of teams.

They have both indicated they love Anaheim and the franchise. I don't know why that would have changed. They get big minutes and will get big money, and the team is on the upswing.

Though of course there are no guarantees....

Since the Ducks have often burned out themselves by training too hard before the start of the season (and not recovered from it until too late), perhaps this lockout will end up favoring them. I can certainly see guys like Selänne and Koivu benefiting from it.
